Three answers no other checker gives you

Your ingredients, flagged

Tell us once what you react to — fragrance, lanolin, essential oils, anything — and every scan checks for it. Pregnancy cautions are targeted rather than generic, and if you're very sensitive we surface the trace allergens we'd otherwise keep quiet.

Fungal acne, properly handled

Malassezia feeds on fatty acids in a specific chain-length range — and many of those ingredients are genuinely good for everyone else. So we flag them on a separate axis instead of docking the safety score. A ceramide cream stays excellent; it just isn't for you.

Conflicts with what you own

Save the products you use and we cross-check every new scan against them. Vitamin C layered under a retinoid blunts both. Two exfoliating acids in one routine is the most common over-exfoliation trap there is. You'll be told before you buy, not after.

Paying us never changes a score

Efficacy and Safety are computed the same way for everyone, subscriber or not. Pro doesn't unlock better numbers, doesn't reorder recommendations, and doesn't hide anything unflattering about a product we happen to earn commission on.

It adds a layer: your profile, your flags, your conflicts. If we let money move the scores, the scores would be worth nothing — including to you.

How do the Efficacy and Safety scores work?

Every product receives a brutally honest score out of 5.0. The Efficacy Score measures if the product contains enough "Gold Standard" active ingredients to actually work. The Safety Score acts as a skincare toxicity scale, penalizing products that use harsh alcohols, volatile essential oils, or potential allergens.

Can DemythSkin help me find skincare dupes?
